Rick Myers founded Southern California Prosthetics following two decades of accomplishment in the field of medical device management. As founder and former president of Freedom Innovations, Myers developed the company into a leading US high-technology provider of carbon-fiber prosthetic feet and micro-processor controlled knees. Previously, he was vice president of Global Operations for Ossur, an international leader in orthotics and prosthetics. Myers’ expertise spans operations, sales, marketing, product development, business development and acquisitions. In 2008, he earned his certificate in prosthetics from Cal State Dominguez Hills to focus on his passion for patient care. He has served on the boards of directors of the Amputee Coalition of American since 2004 and Providence Christian College, and, in 2006, founded Heritage Christian School.
Stan Patterson is a nationally recognized, ABC certified prosthetist, known for his revolutionary strides in prosthetics design. Patterson graduated from the University of North Alabama with a bachelor of science degree in Education, and earned his certification in prosthetics from the American Board for Certification in 1994. He has founded and managed several prosthetic patient care facilities since 1997. In 1998, Patterson founded Prosthetic & Orthotic Associates of Central Florida, an industry leader and innovator in the custom fabrication of high performance prosthetic products, employing the most advanced techniques known in the precision fitting and fabrication of prostheses. A highly respected speaker at national prosthetic and orthotic conferences, he has served as an adjunct professor for Ottobock Healthcare and TEC Interface Systems. Chosen by the American Academy of Orthotists and Prosthetists to receive the 2007 Clinical Commitment Award at the 33rd Annual Meeting in San Francisco.
